Before So Far Gone, the record deals, and one of the biggest careers in modern music, Drake was still building his audience one mixtape at a time.

Released in 2007, Comeback Season was Drake’s second mixtape and an important step between the raw beginnings of Room for Improvement and the breakout that would follow with So Far Gone. The project showed a noticeably more developed version of Drake—more confident as a rapper, increasingly melodic, and beginning to shape the sound that would eventually become unmistakably his.

One of the project’s most important songs was “Replacement Girl” featuring Trey Songz, which became one of Drake’s earliest music videos to receive significant television exposure. The mixtape also features early collaborations and freestyles that capture Drake before the infrastructure of a major-label superstar existed around him.

This original Comeback Season CD insert is signed prominently on the front by Drake in black marker, with the autograph placed directly beside his portrait. The insert has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA, preserving an artifact from one of the most important transitional periods of his career.

The piece is also accompanied by the original Comeback Season CD, completing the presentation.
